Monitoring and Evaluation for Health Programs
About the course
Monitoring and Evaluation helps in collecting, analyzing and transforming health data into strategic information for informed decision making, improved effectiveness and enhanced advocacy in health programs. M&E will help to ensure that health programs are implemented as planned and to assess whether desired results are being achieved.
This course aims to build the capacity of M&E professionals working in the health sector. The acquired M&E skills will assist the participants to improve health program planning and performance management and enhance the institutionalization of the collection of health-related data and the analysis of program impact. The main topics covered include the development of monitoring and evaluation for key health sector program areas; HIV and AIDS, STDs, TB, maternal health, family planning, child health and reproductive health.
This course is designed for researchers, project staff, development practitioners, managers and decision makers who are responsible for project, program or organization-level M&E in the Health sector.
Public Health and Natural Hazards
“Public Health and Natural Hazards” is an intensive one week course for professionals working in public health and humanitarian assistance settings. This course provides participants with knowledge and skills related to the practice of public health in natural disaster situations. It will examine natural disasters in the context of climate change, urbanization and aging populations. In addition to critical discussion on concepts and principles of humanitarian interventions and the international humanitarian assistance system, the course provides hands-on learning experiences to develop and practice skills related to pre-event risk assessment, institutional preparedness and community resilience, as well as post-event damage and needs assessments, response planning and the public health management of relief and recovery phases.
Training on Research Design, Data Management and Statistical Analysis using SPSS
In the socio-economic and business context, conducting research, data management and data analysis are imperative for informed decision making. The availability of several datasets and research techniques open the gateway of conducting systematic research which will be helpful for consumers, businesses and organizations. A sound knowledge about the methodology of conducting research and use of SPSS as a research, data management and analysis tool is very beneficial for the researchers.
Upon completion, the participants will develop competence in quantitative techniques through hands-on practices in study design, data collection, and management, as well as the analysis and interpretation of data.
The training is designed for participants who intend to learn how to plan, implement effective research studies including data management analysis. Those who are working in the private sector, government institutions, research institutions and NGOs.
