Graduate diploma in Research and Biostatistics
Background information:
The graduate diploma in Research and Biostatistics is one year (Three semester) for medical and allied health professionals who wants to build career in Research and Biostatistics. The program will provide skills for planning and conducting strong and reliable health research and assist you to understand the mathematical background, theory and application of biostatistics in health and medical research, also developing your skills in performing complex statistical analyses using different kinds of software (SPSS, EPI-INFO, STATA, R-program, Minitab and NVivo).
Program objectives:
On completion of the Graduate Diploma, graduates will have attained the required skills for employment as a Researcher and biostatistician. This course allows graduates to:
- Gain the skills you need to plan and implement a health research program;
- Develop clinical practice and build a career on the frontiers of health care;
- Attain skills for employment as a professional biostatistician in medical and public health research centers, universities, hospitals, government departments and the pharmaceutical industry;
- Generate, organize and analyses the data from health programs;
- Handle qualitative health research using Nvivo;
- Develop indicators and conducting monitoring and evaluation in health programs
