Bakar Omar is a health specialist and works remotely as a researcher and lecturer at the School of Public Health and Research, Somali National University. Also, he serves as Junior Advisor for Science and Research Development at the school. Bakar has an academic pedigree in public health; he holds a Master’s degree in Science and Technology for Population Health and Wealth from Università Degli Studi di Brescia, Brescia, Italy and Bachelor of Science (honors) in Public Health from Alzaeim Alazhari University, Sudan. His key areas of research interest are ageing health and demographic change, nutrition, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and climate change. Before joining SPHR, he has experience in most tier research institutes, international organizations, and the public sector, including Brescia University, Italy, and Dalarna University, Sweden.
