
Prof. Dr. Hassan Ga’al
Prof. Dr. Hassan Ga’al serves as Principal Research Officer, Vector Management and Research Center at the School of Public Health, Somali National University. Prof. Ga’al received his B.S. degree in Biology from the Omdurman Islamic University – Sudan, M.Sc. degree in Bioscience and Biotechnology majoring in Entomology and Vector Control from Gezira University, Sudan, and PhD in Entomology and Vector Control from the Zhejiang University, China. Prof. Ga’al has 7 years of Vector Control Experience. Prior to joining the School of Public Health at Somali National University (SNU), Prof. Ga’al worked as an Entomologist and Mosquito Control advisor for several governmental and local NGOs for 6 years, including the Kaalo NGO for Health Services and Vector Control Program of the Mogadishu Capital City. His work focused on Vector Control Studies and Mosquito Surveillance Activities defining the intervention strategies for Malaria Vector Control and other Vector Borne Diseases, Ticks and Ticks Disease Prevention, Insecticide Resistance Evaluation and Vector Bionomics, Strengthen Containment Strategies for VBDs Outbreaks and other Medical Insect Problems. Prof. Ga’al has also remarkable footprint on the research and the development of vector control field. Currently he teaches Research Methodology to the Post-Graduate Students at the School of Public Health and Research, Somali National University (SNU).
